University of Oregon, graduated with honors in 1992, B.S. Business, Finance and Marketing Majors. PGA of America Class A member since 1995. Became Head Professional at Columbia Edgewater CC in 1999. PGA Certification in Golf Operations, 2011. Played in 2002, 2004, 2017 National PGA Club Professional Championships. Member of 2003 PNWPGA Hudson Cup Professional Team. Pacific Northwest Section PGA Golf Professional of the Year, 2015 and 2021. Oregon Chapter PGA Golf Professional of the Year, 2005, 2006, 2015, 2021. Pacific Northwest Section PGA Bill Strausbaugh (mentoring golf professionals) Award Winner, 2010. Past President and Board member, Pacific Northwest Section, 2006-2018, 2021. 13 Former Assistant Professionals have gone on to become Head Professionals, General Managers, or other executive positions in the PGA of America.

Jim Myers, CGCS
Graduate from Ferris State University in Horticulture in Big Rapids Michigan and at University of Georgia in Turf Management. -Served as superintendent at The Plateau Club in Seattle and at Vail Golf Club in Vail Colorado -Prepared the golf course for two United State Presidents to play a round together -Hosted the United States President Jerry Ford Golf Invitational -Hosted the Cambia Portland Classic - LPGA -Twice Past President of Western Washington Golf Course Superintendents Association -Committee Member for several committees with Golf Course Superintendents Association of America -Chapter Delegate for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America -Served on the Northwest Turfgrass Association Board of Directors -Advisory member for Turf Trends/Mountain West Turf Magazine, I also wrote for the magazine - Played golf on five continents to find ways to improve my Turf Management Practices
 
Head Golf Professional
Adrian Burtner, PGA
A 1999 University of Oregon graduate with a degree in Business Administration, Adrian captured 2 collegiate events during his senior year and earned 2nd team All-Pac 10 golf honors. In 2007 he received his PGA membership and was honored as the OR PGA Assistant Professional of the Year. During a 12-year stint as an assistant professional at Columbia Edgewater, he participated on the 2008 Hudson Cup team, the 2010 PGA Professional National Championship and captured 2 PNWPGA Pro-Assistant championships. Following his time at CE, he became the Director of Golf at Concordia University, leading both men’s and women’s programs during their transition from NAIA to NCAA D2 status. Adrian returned to the CE team in 2017 as the current Head PGA Professional. When not at Columbia, Adrian spends his free time with his loving family of Amy, Isla and Carson.

Kalle Granada
Kalle most recently was the Golf Club Director at El Rio Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico, overseeing the entire operation of a Jack Nicklaus signature private golf club. Prior to this role for the past 10 years, he gained experience as an Operations Director with Ochoa Sports Management, including co-founding of the Lorena Ochoa Golf Academy in Mexico and bringing the first LPGA tournament to Mexico – the Corona Morelia Championship. Kalle was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, also spending his youth being raised in Stockholm, Sweden. He is fluent in four languages - English, Spanish, German and Swedish. He is passionate about golf, raising his family of 4 children with his wife Ale, all sports, and working out. He is a fitness expert, with ISSA certification for Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition. His education is in Business Management, with a degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Sport’s Psychology.

Tom Bethel
A San Diego State University alumni, Tom’s first job in restaurant management was that of Captain at world famous Spago Restaurant in Los Angeles, home of Chef Wolfgang Puck. Tom’s role there was to organize catering of private events for high-profile clientele. A move north landed Tom as the Dining Room manager at La Mirabelle, in Portland, where he learned the valuable skill of coordinating all activity between the kitchen and the dining room as well as managing a substantial wine inventory. Following was a the role of General Manager at Higgins Restaurant, where for 14 years he led the operations of the restaurant. n 2010, Tom had the opportunity to lead the Oregon Culinary Institute as the Program Director and then as the Director of Education. At the OCI, Tom oversaw an operation that trained (hundreds and hundreds) of chefs and hospitality management professionals, and he coordinated the entire operation of the Institute until it was recently closed due to COVID.

Jake Crouse
Jake’s expertise in kitchen operations combined with his passion for cooking will be a huge asset to the Club. Jake received his degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America, in Hyde Park, New York in 2010. Since then, he has learned from various styles of cooking and Chefs throughout the US, and most relevantly during his time now in Portland, Oregon. His prior experiences at notable PDX eateries such as Laurelhurst Market, Produce Row Café, Trifecta Tavern, and Great Notion Brewing have further refined his recipe development and kitchen competence. He also gained valuable experience as the interim Chef at Oswego Lake Country Club before taking on his most recent role as Executive Chef of Big River Grill in Stevenson, WA.

I grew up in New Jersey on animal rescue farm. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Science, then moved to Portland in 2019. Prior to CECC I organized large events for a local brewery as well as coordinate and manage large conferences at a university in New Jersey. My passion for service and my steadfast drive to make every event as smooth and memorable as possible has me excited to do just that at CECC. When I’m not working I can be found doing just about anything adventure wise. Some of my favorite things to do are gardening, traveling, and nurturing my small jewelry business.

Tara Tokonitz
Tara started her career as a caddie where golf became a passion. While playing collegiate golf at Methodist University, she pursued a degree in Business Administration and Professional Golf Management graduating as a Class A PGA Professional in 2009. Golf has taken Tara across the country working in top 100 resorts and private clubs, gathering experiences in merchandising, tournament operations, and teaching individual and group lessons. While gaining these experiences she realized her passion lied in making the game more enjoyable for each individual. Her personal experiences as a student, player and manager are reflected in her teaching philosophy. She believes the best way to improve the game is to have fun while doing it and that a good attitude is as important as a good swing. She endeavors to make every lesson fun, engaging and relaxed while providing personalized solutions to help reach the individual’s goals.

Kasey is originally from Buhl Idaho.He graduated from Corban University in Salem Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and will complete his Master’s in Business Administration by the end of the year. While at Corban, he also played golf collegiately. He has always been passionate about golf and looks forward to getting into the PGA program!

Simone graduated from Oregon State University in 2017 with a bachelors in Merchandising Management. Go Beavs! She has always had a passion for fashion, consumer buying behavior, and how apparel affects performance. She grew up playing soccer and lacrosse, but was not introduced to golf until marrying into a family with occupations primarily in the industry. She has a family of 4, with husband Caleb, 5-month old son Kai, and pup Maui.
